Paul McCartney wrote a song that sounded like something George Harrison, his former bandmate, would have written. It’s surprising given how long Paul ignored George’s songwriting while they were in the same band. Paul dismissed George’s musical contributions, claiming that only he and John Lennon were The Beatles’ songwriters.

However, Paul eventually apologized to George. He realized he’d undervalued George’s songwriting abilities. George later heavily influenced one of Paul’s songs.

‘Friends To Go,’ written by Paul McCartney, sounded like a George Harrison song.

Paul wrote “Friends To Go” a few years after George died in 2001, and it appeared on his 2005 album, Chaos And Creation In The Backyard. According to The Paul McCartney Project, Paul later admitted to Gary Crowley that when he started writing the song, it morphed into something George would’ve written.
