George Harrison’s music has reached far past any expectations he may have had as a kid in a rock and roll skiffle band in the early sixties. Now, according to his family who run his estate, the post-Beatles work of the quiet and spiritual musician will be released in one collection for the first time with the George Harrison Vinyl Collection box set.Announced on Tuesday morning, the vinyl box set will include all twelve of George’s studio albums with exact replicas of the original release track listing and artwork, which were remastered from the original analog master tapes. Also included in the box set will be George’s double LP live album, Live In Japan, and two 12” single picture discs of “When We Was Fab,” and “Got My Mind Set On You.”The individual albums from the collection will be available for purchase separately as well, with the iconic All Things Must Pass being released as a limited edition title. The box set, which is set for a February 24 release, will be arriving in celebration of what would have been his seventy-fourth birthday on February 25.In addition to announcing the box set of vinyl perfection, Harrison’s family also announced that his 1980 autobiography, I Me Mine, will to be re-released as a new, extended version, with updated 632 total pages featuring lyrics to over 50 songs not previously included, and new, never before released photographs.There will also be a George Harrison commemorative turntable to listen to all those incredible albums on.
