A 1956 Austin Princess once owned by Beatle John Lennon – and used by him and wife Yoko Ono in the 1972 film Imagine – is to be sold at auction in London next month. The car – which featured prominently in the film made to promote Lennon’s Capitol Records album of the same name – is still fitted with five airplane seats in the back that Lennon added. The Austin Princess limousines were popular with John, Paul, George and Ringo and a number of them were used by the band’s Apple Records label for use by the various band members.
