1966 saw the union of George Harrison and Pattie Boyd, who remained together until divorcing in 1977. However, the couple realized the cracks in their relationship were growing into unfixable issues long before their marriage was formally ended. At a New Year’s Eve celebration in 1974, Harrison suggested to Boyd that they get a divorce in front of their friends.
