“Twist and Shout” by the Beatles became one of their most famous covers. George Harrison explained why he had grown tired of the song. The cover performed differently on different charts, which is noteworthy.

Part of The Beatles’ career, according to George Harrison, “was a bit of a drag.”

During a 1977 interview, George Harrison discussed The Beatles’ time in Hamburg, according to the book George Harrison on George Harrison: Interviews and Encounters. “I was just having so much fun just playing,” he said. “I’m missing that.”

The Beatles’ time in Hamburg was then heavily criticized by George. “Even when we started selling records and doing a lot of tours, it was a drag because we’d go on the road and play the same tunes to different people,” he said. “We’d drop a few and add new ones all the time, but it was basically the same old tunes.”
