‘Magical History Tour’ coming to take Beatles fans away at The Henry Ford – Life – Press and Guide
When the Exhibits Development Group started planning “The Magical History Tour: A Beatles Memorabilia Exhibition” a few years back, it contacted the Beatles via Apple Corps Ltd. management company.Authorization was not forthcoming.“They said that while Mr. McCartney is alive he doesn’t want to be in a museum,” recalls the Saint Paul, Minn.-based company’s Will Peterson. But the Beatles organization didn’t do anything to stop the exhibit, which begins its U.S. premiere this week at the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn.“They didn’t want to be involved, but they basically, for all intents and purposes, said: ‘Good luck,’” Peterson said. “So we picked up what they were putting down and went ahead and planned an exhibition that is sensitive to their copyrights, and we’re certainly not trying to be at conflict with anything that the Beatles are doing.”
