The Beatles’ Paul McCartney Pens A Romantic Letter To His Female Idol – Metalhead Zone
The Beatles’ Paul McCartney, recently shared a photo of himself and his idol, Peggy Lee, who was a famous jazz singer, on his official Instagram account, writing his thoughts about her and commemorating her on her birthday.
Paul McCartney shared a black and white photo of himself and Peggy Lee and wrote a short yet emotional letter, explaining how much she inspired and affected his music and how much he loved working with her.
He wrote that she was his idol since childhood:
“It was such a thrill to work with Peggy Lee who had been one of my idols since a kid.”
Paul continued saying that she inspired him to do what he did with The Beatles:
“Her version of ‘Til There Was You’ was what inspired me to do it with The Beatles (of course, I didn’t realise it was from the musical ‘Music Man’) so meeting and working with her was a real pleasure.”
He ended his letter-like post wishing her a happy birthday:
“She was a classy lady whose music thrilled lots of people all over the world. Happy Birthday, Peg!
– Paul McCartney”
Paul McCartney worked with Peggy Lee on her album ‘Let’s Love’ which was released in 1974. Paul McCartney was the writer and the producer of the title track of the album. Peggy Lee died of a heart attack on January 21, 2002, at the age of 81.
