To celebrate what would have been the Beatle’s 74th birthday on 25 February, the Classic Vinyl show on Sirius XM will be playing the music of George Harrison all week, including exclusive insight into his career from his widow Olivia Harrison and songs from the upcoming box set, George Harrison – The Vinyl Collection, featuring all of his solo studio albums in one collection for the first time.Working with the Harrison family, this collection was carefully assembled, down to the very detail. It includes solo albums from 1968-2002, complete with exact replicas of the original release track listing and artwork plus 12-inch picture discs of When We Was Fab and Got My Mind Set On You and George’s classic live album Live In Japan.George Harrison Extended Memoir EditionThis week also celebrates the release of a newly extended edition of Harrison’s 1980 memoir, I Me Mine, out through Genesis Publications. It covers the full span of his life and work and includes handwritten lyric sheets to 141 songs, new text commentary and additional photographs. The memoir spans everything from his childhood in Liverpool, to early Beatlemania and his spirituality and philosophy.In addition to personal stories from Olivia Harrison, DJ and host of Classic Vinyl, Rachel Steele, will be providing commentary and broadcasting from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Classic Vinyl’s George Harrison Week airs from Tuesday 21 February though Sunday, 26 February.
