Rock legend, Derek and the Dominos co-founder and George Harrison collaborator, dies at 77
Bobby Whitlock, co-founder of Derek and the Dominos with Eric Clapton and contributor to George Harrison’s iconic ‘All Things Must Pass’ album, died Sunday at age 77. Whitlock was renowned as a keyboard player and vocalist.His manager, Carol Kaye, confirmed to Variety that Whitlock died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday after a brief battle with cancer.His wife Coco Whitlock said in a statement to TMZ in part:“My love Bobby looked at life as an adventure taking me by the hand leading me through a world of wonderment from music to poetry and painting. I feel his hands that were so intensely expressive and warm on my face and the small of my back whenever I close my eyes, he is there.”
