May Pang wants to set the record straight. Imagine being a young Chinese American woman in your early twenties, working as a personal assistant for the most famous couple in the world, and one day your boss asks you to start dating her husband. This is the situation May Pang found herself in 1973 when Yoko Ono asked (ordered?) her to date John Lennon and keep him away from other women while they took a short break from their marriage. Of course, Pang vehemently refused, but over the ensuing weeks Lennon turned on the old Fab Four charm and the next thing Pang knew, she was dating a Beatle and flying off to Los Angeles. She had never even had a boyfriend before, and what was supposed to be a two-week break became an 18-month long love affair.
