John Lennon was never too far away from a wide-reaching point being made. Whether through his music, socio-political protests or interviews, Lennon’s silver tongue was invariably wagging. However, in the 1960s, as the world relished his work and labelled him and the rest of The Beatles as musical geniuses, Lennon turned away from such a hefty label.The Beatles’ music had quickly become the fodder of intellectuals across the world as pop music became the art form du jour, and the Liverpudlians, as the leading quartet of the sweeping craze, were seen as the new purveyors of the thinking man’s culture. For a long time, however, the band rejected this notion.
