The Mersey Beatles, formerly the resident Beatles band at the Cavern in Liverpool, is bringing their show to the U.S. later this month, on the east coast. The John Lennon Examiner has heard from Julia Baird, John Lennon’s sister, about the band’s upcoming shows, and she is excited to support them and let our readers know about the band and how to see them perform here in America.Julia said, “The Mersey Beatles were the resident tribute band in The Cavern, only ending when they started to travel more and more with their act, meaning that they couldn’t be in Liverpool on a regular basis. One of their first away dates, was to The Cavern Club in Adelaide, Australia, when they were chosen to represent Liverpool/Cavern/Beatles for the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Beatles arrival in Australia. I was with them on that memorable trip…they were very successful.”
