Four things I’ve learned from writing about The Beatles – Liverpool Echo
It’s been a couple of months since I dived into the world of Beatlemania.
As someone who would have not have previously considered themselves a fan of the Fab Four, the prospect of covering them was a daunting, yet exciting one. However, the role made me instantly connect with the music and history of the Liverpool legends.
Studying the history of the band, as wall as interacting with Beatles fans from all across the world in forums have taught me many things. Here’s four things writing about the Beatles for the ECHO has taught me.
The Beatles were more than a band
This one, to me, is the most important thing I’ve learned. Despite being one of the most legendary and well-known acts of the 20th century, The Beatles represent so much more than just music.
The fact four working class lads, growing up in terraced houses across Liverpool in the 50s were able to take over the world, acted as an inspiration for many young people that it was possible to make it big. It was easy for people, especially those from Liverpool, to identify with John, Paul, George and Ringo.
