Fest for Beatles Fans back to New Jersey after COVID layoff
The big news in Beatlesworld last year was “The Beatles: Get Back” — a three-part, eight-hour documentary by Peter Jackson that some saw as a rebuke of the 1970 documentary film “Let it Be” by Michael Lindsay-Hogg.
And the big news, just announced, at the annual Fest for Beatles Fans in Jersey City this weekend is that — for the first time — both directors, Jackson and Lindsay-Hogg, will appear together (virtually) to discuss their films in front of fans.
“They’ve never spoken in public together,” said Mark Lapidus, the Montvale resident who this year is producing his first live event after two years of COVID.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am,” Lapidus said of his first post-lockown convention. “The special guests we have are really terrific, and some have never been here before.”
