Australian fans of Paul McCartney have criticised the former Beatle after he posted an Australia Day message to his Facebook page and inadvertently reminded Aussies how long it’s been since he last toured the country.Posting to Facebook with an old photo of himself with the Union Jack and the Australian Flag, McCartney said, “Salutations to our cousins down under on Australia Day. Have a great one. Watch out for flying kangaroos!”Seems innocent enough, right? Albeit a bit tone deaf to the national conversation surrounding the divisive public holiday.
