Two Setlists Handwritten by Paul McCartney in the Beatles’ Earliest Years Head to Auction | Barron’s
Two handwritten setlists from the Beatles’ earliest years will be offered at Bonhams this October, with each estimated to sell for between US$150,000 and US$250,000.
Both setlists—the song lineups for live performances held in 1960 and 1963—were handwritten by Paul McCartney when he was only 17 and 20 years old, respectively.
They are two of just eight Beatles setlists in existence that are handwritten by a member of the band, and “each one offers a fascinating glimpse into the creative process behind early performances of a group that redefined rock and roll, and popular culture across the world,” Howard Kramer, senior specialist of popular culture at Bonhams, said in a statement.
The two setlists will highlight the auction house’s sale of music memorabilia on Oct. 28 in New York.
