Chapter 3 ‘The Crypt’

Martin Cole finds himself in a crypt below an old church.
After dreaming of his long lost love, he awakes to the sounds of a ‘Watcher’ that had followed him down.

(Echoing voice whispers)

‘Am I still asleep?’
‘Is the dream over?’
‘What happened?’

‘Slowly, I came to, like a hospital patient coming out of a morphine haze.
The dank and musty smell of the crypt was nauseating.
What had happened? How did I wind up down here?

Did the watcher that had followed me, infiltrate my subconsciousness?
Somehow forced me into a dreamlike state?
The only thing the watchers couldn’t comprehend just yet, was the concept of love.
The eternal devotion and belief in something greater than ourselves.
The unconditional human bond of connection.’
