The Bootleg Beatles announce that they will be holding auditions for the new John Lennon. The band was formed in 1980 as a tribute to The Beatles. The members of The Bootleg Beatles are Adam Hastings (Lennon), Steve White (Paul McCartney), Gordon Elsmore (Ringo Starr), and Stephen Hill (George Harrison). Even though there is still no announcement regarding Hastings’ departure, the fact that the band is looking for a new Lennon suggests that he may no longer be part of The Bootleg Beatles. All male singers are encouraged to audition for the part, but they must look and sound like the original Lennon from The Beatles. The musician should also know how to play the keyboard as well as the guitar.Where To Watch The Bootleg Beatles? The Bootleg Beatles have an ongoing tour in the United Kingdom. On Feb. 25, the quartet will perform at the Bord Gais Theater in Dublin, Ireland. The group’s next show will take place on March 17 at the Fort Regent Leisure Centre in the U.K. From April to July, The Bootleg Beatles will go on a nonstop tour in St. Albans, Malvern, Cambridge, Southend, Halifax, York, London, Glasgow, Pontefract, Herts, and more. The group will go on a four-month break from August to November, and their shows will resume on Dec. 5 at the Forum in Bath, U.K. The last show is scheduled for Dec. 21 at the Brighton Center in Brighton U.K. Tickets for the shows are available online. The Bootleg Beatles have already performed over 4,000 times since 1980. The group’s first performance was at a small student gathering in Tiverton, Devon, England. In 1984, the tribute band was invited to perform in the United States. In 2002, the group was one of the performers at Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee celebration.Steve White Talks About The Bootleg BeatlesLast year, White opened up about his involvement with the band since he only joined The Bootleg Beatles in 2012. He said that as a young boy, he was already a huge fan of The Beatles.”And so basically what happened was when I was playing in the 60’s group it transpired that we were all huge Beatles fans so we all started being a little self-indulgent learning lots and lots of Beatles songs. At one of our shows someone saw us playing a couple of Beatles songs and approached us to see if we would just play Beatles material at a wedding,” said White.
