Ringo Starr coming to Israel, with a little help from his All Starr friends – Israel News – Haaretz.com
Ringo Starr is coming to Israel this June as part of his European “Give More Live” tour. The legendary Beatles drummer will perform in Tel Aviv’s Menora Mivtachim Arena on June 23 together with his “All Starr” band.
Ringo’s band includes the likes of Colin Hay from Men at Work, legendary Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, Santana’s keyboard player Gregg Rolie and Warren Ham from Kansas.
Ticket prices start at 250 shekel ($72) and peak at 1,294 shekel ($374) for Golden Ring seats.
Beatlemania was as rife in Israel as anywhere in the West in the ‘60s despite a concert being cancled and claims by officials that the band was a “corruptive influence.”
In 2008, Paul McCartney preformed to over 40,000 Israelis. Israel’s ambassador to Britain formally apologized that year for the cold shoulder shown to the Beatles.
