Will Johns, is a British blues-rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, and author whose family tree reads like a Who’s Who of rock and roll royalty.
Born in London in 1973, Will is the son of legendary recording engineer Andy Johns, who worked with Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. His uncle, Glyn Johns, worked with The Beatles, The Who, Eric Clapton, and countless other musical giants.
Through his mother, Paula Boyd, Will is also the nephew of Pattie Boyd, whose marriages to George Harrison and Eric Clapton inspired some of rock’s greatest love songs, including “Something” and “Layla.”
In fact, Uncle Eric helped teach Will the guitar, showing him the opening chords to “Crossroads,” then encouraging him to figure out the rest for himself!
Will has since performed alongside Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Steve Winwood, Ronnie Wood, Bill Wyman, and numerous other legends, forging his own distinctive blues-rock sound.
Inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame in 2025, Will has released his sixth album, On Top of the World, featuring drummer Steve Ferrone.
His new memoir, Bluesdaddy: Born Into Noise, Raised on Chaos and Saved by the Blues, written with Marshall Terrill, takes readers behind the glamorous façade of rock royalty.
It’s a candid, frequently humorous, and sometimes heartbreaking account of family instability, personal struggles, survival, and ultimately finding his own musical identity.
Because, as Will’s story demonstrates, being born into rock history is one thing, but making your own mark is quite another.
Please join us in welcoming musician, storyteller, and author, Will Johns!
