“Band on the Run” Inspires 61 Artists for War Child
Paul McCartney has supplied the creative spark for this year’s Sound & Vision charity art project: 61 artists have created original works inspired by a lyric from the Wings classic “Band on the Run.” The lyric, personally selected by McCartney, is the famous opening image about the rain exploding “with a mighty crash” as the protagonists fall into the sun. The online auction officially opens today, October 27, and continues through November 12. War Child
The project benefits War Child UK, which provides protection, education, mental-health support and emergency assistance to children affected by war. The 61 artworks will also receive a physical exhibition at London’s Iconic Images Gallery from November 6–8.
