Will Eddie Vedder, Beyoncé and Paul McCartney attend Obama farewell party? – The San Diego Union-Tribune
Will former San Diego singer Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam join Beyoncé, Jay Z, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen to attend Friday’s White House farewell party for President Barack Obama? Will any of them perform?Speculation is swirling, following a Washington Post report that the White House will host a Friday “goodbye party” for friends and major donors.President Obama and his wife, Michelle, last month told People magazine they planned to have one final party at the White House before President-elect Donald J. Trump assumes office on Jan. 20.The White House has yet to confirm any event for Friday. That is par for the course, according to the Post, which notes such events are usually not disclosed until a few hours before they take place.Should the party transpire, the Obamas will — as in the past — pay for it themselves, the Post reports. In addition to the all-star musical cast cited above — all of whom are ardent Obama fans who supported Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential bid — other likely attendees for the party cited by the Post include Oprah Winfrey, George Lucas, Samuel L. Jackson and Bradley Cooper.
