Mattel announced June 8 that the Beatles Yellow Submarine will be the theme for a brand new set of seven of its Hot Wheels toys that will debut worldwide on June 9. The company will roll out a special six car set of what they call “The Beatles Themed Assortment” Thursday for the very first time at The Cirque du Soleil Beatles Shop located at the Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, which is also the home of the Beatles “LOVE” show. That show is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.Copyright Mattel ToysView all20 photosCopyright Mattel ToysThe full Hot Wheels Beatles collection includes the Hot Wheels basic replica Yellow Submarine car which comes complete with orange track and compatible wheels. “The Beatles Themed Assortment” features six different cars decorated with art from the 1968 “Yellow Submarine” film and various images of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and the Blue Meanies. The cars are labeled “Cockney Cab”; “Fish’D N Chip’d”; “Morris Mini”; and “Fast Felion.” There are also two additional vehicles called “Kool Kombi,” a Volkswagen bus with a Blue Meanies design; and “Bump Around,” which resembles a bumper car from an amusement park. The suggested retail price for each of the seven cars is $1.09.
