Watch Paul McCartney Play Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” in Minneapolis
Paul McCartney is certainly not the first artist to pay tribute to Prince. He’s not the third, or the 50th. Hell, thousands and thousands of musicians out there have already paid their respects to the late legend. But there are few artists out there—if any—who command the respect that Sir Paul McCartney does. Prince was close. So was David Bowie. Always a man of class, McCartney waited until playing a show in Prince’s home state to pay tribute to The Purple One. Fans at this Minneapolis show were seeing Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney. And still, the tragic loss of Prince was likely on the minds of every single person in attendance. Not even the presence of a Beatle could distract from Prince’s death on April 21. McCartney knew this. And, to honor Prince’s memory, he projected the iconic symbol behind him, bathed his stage in purple, and did his best to shred his way through “Let’s Go Crazy” half as well as Prince.
