However, the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist recently revealed the musician who, in turn, captivates him the most: Paul McCartney.Following his performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games closing ceremony, Flea declared McCartney as the “greatest rock bass player.” In an interview with Team Coco, transcribed by Ultimate Guitar, Flea praised McCartney’s ability to create lyrical and melodic bass lines that stand out in the world of rock.“I think Paul’s the greatest rock bass player. He’s just great. There are so many great players, but Paul’s bass playing is so lyrical and melodic—it’s just beautiful,” Flea remarked.
