Cincinnati’s orchestrated campaign to lure music legend Paul McCartney to Music Hall might have fallen on deaf ears.Courier arts contributor Janelle Gelfand reported on her blog this week that Sir Paul will not be attending the July 18 opening night performance of “Liverpool Oratorio,” the world premiere of the work’s staged version presented by Cincinnati Opera. But the former Beatle will send a personal message to audiences, opera officials said July 15.“While we’ve just learned that Sir Paul is unable to travel to Cincinnati for opening night, he wanted to be with us at Music Hall however he could. He’s shared an exclusive message intended just for Liverpool Oratorio audience members – only those in attendance at Music Hall will have the chance to experience it,” Evans Mirageas, Cincinnati Opera’s artistic director, wrote in a letter to ticket holders for a special party taking place after the opening night show.
