Years after The Beatles split up, Ringo Starr started going to a casino in Monte Carlo whose manager he regarded as a friend. He spent a lot of time there and became well-known to the staff and other customers. People could still identify him despite the fact that he had shaved his head and no longer had The Beatles’ mop-top. The musician, according to his manager Barry Sinkow, could not tolerate people approaching him.In Monte Carlo, Ringo Starr was friends with the casino manager.The Loews Casino became one of Starr’s favorite local hangouts during his extensive stay in Monte Carlo in the 1970s. He met Sinkow here.Ringo Starr wears a suit and sits against a wood paneled background.Sinkow befriended Starr as a person, not a celebrity, because the bald man who introduced himself as “Richard” was unfamiliar to him. After more than ten years of fame, Starr probably found this to be a relief. Sinkow started going to dinner with Starr and his friends and always made sure that they got their check.
