In the 1980s, Madonna dominated pop music and started to appear in motion pictures. She and her new husband, Sean Penn, were cast together in Jim Goddard’s 1986 film Shanghai Surprise. Harrison founded HandMade films, a production company, in 1978. HandMade films produced the film. Along with creating the soundtrack, Harrison also appeared in Shanghai Surprise in a cameo capacity.
