The assassination of John Lennon is among the most publicised events of the 21st century.
On December 8, 1980, Mark David Chapman shot Lennon multiple times as he left his New York apartment. At the time, John Lennon was married to Japanese artist Yoko Ono and had a son, Sean Lennon.
For almost 40 years, Ono kept silent about the day of her husband’s death- with fears of being vilified by Beatles fans at the front of her mind. However, in an interview several years ago, she shared the details of her last moments with the former Beatle.
