LadBaby passes The Beatles and Spice Girls for UK Christmas charts record – ABC News
Two YouTubers and charity campaigners have surpassed The Beatles and Spice Girls for the most consecutive Christmas number one songs in the United Kingdom.
Key points:
- LadBaby record the songs to raise money for the Trussell Trust food bank charity
- All of their songs have a sausage roll theme
- LadBaby teamed up with Ed Sheeran and Elton John for this year’s Christmas number one
The honour goes to the song at the top of the British music charts at Christmas, with the race for the top spot — now going for seven decades — becoming an institution in the country.
Husband and wife duo Mark and Roxanne Hoyle, who go by the name LadBaby, this year achieved their fourth consecutive Christmas number one with their song Sausage Rolls For Everyone, featuring Ed Sheeran and Elton John.
They are the first artists to have four consecutive Christmas number one hits, according to the Official Charts Company.
