Yoko Ono has got the festive season well and truly underway with an incredible surprise gift that will benefit vulnerable people in Liverpool.

The artist, musician and philanthropist has bowled staff at The Brain Charity over by sending them an extremely rare and collectable limited edition vinyl acetate of her single Happy Xmas (War is Over), that she released with her late husband, Beatles legend John Lennon.

The Norton-Street charity, which supports people with neurological conditions, had no prior warning that the incredible gift would be arriving.

25 of the rare vinyl acetates – potentially worth thousands – have been gifted to UK charities working with music as a Christmas gift for them to raise funds.

There was a personal note accompanying the record from Sean Ono Lennon – the son of Yoko and John – which read: “Happy Xmas.
