Pier Head Ferry Terminal to be named after Merseybeat legend Gerry Marsden – Liverpool Echo
Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram has revealed plans to rename the Pier Head Ferry Terminal after Merseybeat legend Gerry Marsden.
Under the plans, the famous terminal will be renamed as The Liverpool Gerry Marsden Ferry Terminal, to celebrate the legacy of the legendary singer who sadly died in January of this year at the age of 78.
The frontman of celebrated band Gerry and the Pacemakers, he will forever be associated with the Mersey Ferries through the band’s classic tune, Ferry Cross the Mersey, which was released in 1964 and followed by a musical film.
