World celebrates John Lennon’s 75th birthday: Life of ‘The Beatles’ star in 5 iconic pictures

Born on 9 October, 1940, Lennon was known for his rebellious nature and use of bold and socially challenged themes in his music. He was a prominent supporter of world peace activities that reflected in a number of his works including “Give Peace a Chance” and “Imagine.”

Unfortunately, on 8 December, 1980, he was killed by a mentally unstable person named Mark David Chapman who claimed that Lennon indulged in blasphemy and mocked God. Ironically, Chapman was a huge fan of Lennon and used to idolise him.

The world celebrates the 75th birthday of legendary singer and songwriter, John Lennon.
