The Bag O’Nails
Kingly Street, London W.1. UK
Public Transit: Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus
The Bag O’Nails was a hip place for musicians and their entourages to meet during the 1960’s, and people who both performed and socialized included George Fame, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Burdon and many more. It was a private members club, with a stringent doorman to make sure that only the “right” people gained access.
It closed in 1968 and re-opened as The Court. It’s main claim to fame is that it is the place where Paul McCartney and Linda Eastman met for the first time on May 15th 1967.
The rest as they say, is history.
