Abbey Road Studios

3 Abbey Road | St. John’s Wood London NW8 9AY

Probably the world’s most famous recording studios, where The Beatles created so much of their magic. See the code/link below for a complete list of all the superstars who worked there.

Although many other stars have recorded there, tourists are always hungry for information about their heroes, The Beatles.

Paul maintains a home close by, where he stays when in London. He used to sometimes take his Dad there in the late evenings when we were visiting, to sit in on their sessions. Jim always loved to recall these memories in the latter days of his life.

It was built in 1831 as a townhouse, and later, was converted to flats, and finally, in 1929 (the year I was born), The Gramaphone Company acquired it and thus the famous studios were born.

I always remember the lovely pots of hot tea that would mysteriously arrive on silver trolleys, with lots of caffeine to keep everyone going into the wee small hours.
