NORTH CANTON The Beatles left a mark on the music world that is still recognizable today. The four performers from Liverpool, England, changed more than the world of music. Their hair, clothing and style remade the American teenager during the 1960s.The music of the final four members, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, is known by many generations. While Lennon and Harrison are no longer living, McCartney and Starr are still influential on the world stage. One of the top Beatle’s tribute bands, Liverpool Legends, is coming to North Canton to perform at Fieldcrest Estates on Aug. 10 for a benefit concert for the YMCA’s Camp Tippecanoe. One of the many factors that set the Liverpool Legends apart from other tribute bands is that George Harrison’s sister Louise Harrison helped form and groom this band to award winning stardom.“Liverpool Legends have played at major venues around the world and they are coming to North Canton to play and help raise money for Camp Tippecanoe,” said. Patty Campbell at Fieldcrest Estate. “I camped at Camp Tippecanoe when I was younger then I worked there through junior high, high school and college. It’s a great place but it is aging and the cabins need updated. Being a YMCA camp means that they will ensure kids get a chance to camp regardless of ability to pay,” she said.About Liverpool Legends benefit concert at Fieldcrest EstateWhere: Fieldcrest Estate, 1346 Easthill St. SE, North CantonWhen: 6 to 11 p.m., Aug. 10Who: Liverpool Legends Beatles tribute bandWhy: To benefit the YMCA Camp TippecanoeHow: For more details, visit www.fieldcrestestate.com. For tickets, visit www.EvenBrite.com or stop by the Fieldcrest Estate Welcome Center. The proceeds from the concert will go to help Camp Tippecanoe with renovations and to help the YMCA continue to pay camp fees for kids who are unable to pay. The YMCA has given annual scholarship funds exceeding $50,000 to ensure all kids get to attend summer camp and other YMCA programs. The camp has been open since 1958. It is a traditional residential camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 17. Programming includes Adventure Camp, Horse Camps, Teen Camps and Leadership Camp. The camp is located on 1,100 acres situated on Ohio’s largest undeveloped lake, Lake Clendening in Harrison County and is part of the YMCA of Central Stark County. Most of the buildings at Camp Tippecanoe were constructed in the late 1950s and ’60s.“I’ve seen the Liverpool Legends perform before and I knew that Louise Harrison likes the band to do charitable events. I contacted the band and they agreed to come and play for fans in the area. It’s their first time performing in Ohio,” Campbell said. She said the band members are musicians and actors. The four take on the accents, the mannerisms and the moves on stage of the Beatle they portray. Campbell said there are many costume changes throughout the performance because they play Beatles music through the decades.“Liverpool Legends are not the typical tribute band. People will be amazed at how much they look, act and sound like the real Beatles,” Campbell said. The family-friendly evening also includes food and beer trucks. There are two types of tickets available. The VIP tickets include preferred seating where chairs will be placed directly in front of the stage. Regular tickets are for lawn seating. Campbell recommends people bring blankets and chairs for the lawn section.“As one of the Beatles songs go, come together right now for a great night of music, food and fundraising for a great cause. It’s a great way to support Camp Tippecanoe so it can remain strong and can continue its mission long into the future,” Campbell said.More Video:SUBURBANITE VIDEO: Maria Hisey performs the national anthem prior to the Akron RubberDucks’ game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
