Singer Valerie Carter, best known as the backup singer for Jackson Browne, died of a heart attack on Saturday, her sister confirmed to the Tampa Bay Times.She was 64.The singer and songwriter rose to fame in the 1970s and recorded and performed with acts like James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Linda Ronstadt, Ringo Starr and more.She also penned songs for Judy Collins and Browne.
