Sir Paul Opens Up About Battle With Stage FrightIt’s hard to think that Paul McCartney ever struggled with stage fright, but the former Beatle opened up about that issue in a recent Q&A held on PaulMcCartney.com.McCartney said trying to win over a crowd was the base of his stage fright and recalled an early show the Beatles did in Wembley, England where he was “feeling physically sick with a knot in my stomach thinking, ‘I should give this up, this is just too painful, what am I doing?’”Obviously, Macca got over his early stage fright, but to make sure the crowd is still interested in him, he said he has a promoter announce one show that will be part of an upcoming tour and have the tickets go on sale. If they sell out right away, McCartney says, “I’ve got to assume that they like me.”Well, you wouldn’t be around this long if we disliked you, Paul!
