The Beatles to re-release “Live at the Hollywood Bowl” album. – Anglotopia.net
I’ve mentioned before that The Beatles have a major gap in their discography: they have very little in the way of live albums. They’ve had two albums worth of BBC sessions, a tape of a Hamburg gig that only got released due to a copyright loophole that they would eventually close, and a long-deleted LP chronicling a few gigs at the Hollywood Bowl.Of course, it should be noted that by the time they decided to remaster their back catalogue for CD for the first time, Live at the Hollywood Bowl had fallen out of print. Of course, due to the fact that the Beatles’ live material wasn’t really too different from their studio (except for their version of “Yesterday,” which tried to rearrange the music for their standard two guitars-bass-and-drum format), and the omnipresent noise of the screaming fans, it wasn’t deemed too big a loss, but it looks like, with the release of Ron Howard’s Eight Days a Week documentary, Apple Corps has decided the time has come to try and release it again.
