If you’re a person lucky enough to have a dog in your life as a pet, there is a good chance you have ended up serenading them with a song at least once. While these songs never make it past the perimeter of your home or friends, in the case of Paul McCartney, different rules apply.Recorded by his post-Beatles outfit, Wings, ‘Jet’ was the lead single in both the UK and US from 1974’s Band on the Run, released after Capitol Records persuaded McCartney of its potential. It was speculated at the time that the song was named after the musician’s Labrador puppy, Jet, which he himself substantiated later, explaining, “We’ve got a Labrador puppy who is a runt, the runt of a litter”.
