You’d think plenty of “magic” moments were to be stumbled upon during The Beatles’ brief but prolific recording output, especially in 1966.They weren’t out of the Beatlemania woods yet, still committed to punishing touring schedules and lumbered with a Fab Four poster-boy marketing severely at odds with their artistic ambitions and growing countercultural stature. As they played their final commercial show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park on August 29th, Revolver had been out several weeks, LSD had been had more than once, yet they were still playing Chuck Berry covers to screaming fans as if it were 1963.
