John Lennon did almost everything in his career based on instinct.He didn’t want to stay in one place for too long, and while there were moments where he could make things work on his own, he didn’t want to find himself shackled to one style or tone whenever he worked on his records. The Beatles never got put in a box and told what to play, but after a few too many times hitting the studio, Lennon started to think that maybe he had his say over everything that he had done after spending half of his lifetime in the public eye.
