Paul McCartney | Saturday Night Live – May 16th, 2026
Sir James Paul McCartney (born Thursday 18 June 1942) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, composer, poet, and painter. He gained global fame with the Beatles, for whom he was the bassist and keyboardist, and shared primary songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. McCartney is known for his melodic approach to bass-playing, versatile tenor vocal range and musical eclecticism, exploring genres ranging from pre-rock and roll pop to classical, ballads and electronica. His songwriting partnership with Lennon is the most successful in music history.
McCartney returned to Saturday Night Live once again for his 5th musical guest appearance, thus making him a five-time musical guest on May 16, 2026, the season finale of Season 51, hosted by longtime former cast member Will Ferrell (when he returned to SNL to host for the 6th time, thus making Ferrell the third former cast member to return to host the show more than five, after Chevy Chase and Tina Fey as the most frequent SNL host in the show’s history).
