Since the tidal wave of Beatlemania swept the world in the early 1960s, a variety of second bananas have been closely tied to the Fab Four, and some have even been dubbed “Fifth Beatles.”They have included musicians, photographers, managers, producers, disc jockeys, lovers, relatives, etc., linked to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and/or Ringo Starr. Of course, status-seekers love to bask in the refracted glow of genius and be associated with fame and fortune, so this accolade hasn’t always been entirely accurate or earned.
