13 Most Anticipated Albums of 2024
The results are in, and 2023 was a big year for music. Total music consumption in the U.S. increased by 12.6%, and album sales grew 5.2%, just the second time that figure went up in the last 10 years. These increases were powered by Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time, the biggest album of the year, and of course by Taylor Swift, who had a record-breaking five of the top ten titles.Will the needle keep moving up in 2024? Early indicators look good. Unlike movie blockbusters, release dates for even the biggest releases can be fluid until the last minute, so at this point, we only have a reliable handle on the next few months, which will, along with the titles listed below, see new music from J. Lo, Usher (the week of his Super Bowl halftime show), Bleachers, Radiohead side project The Smile, and more. Later, look for projects from the likes of Ariana Grande, Lil Nas X, SZA, Halsey, and Kacey Musgraves.
