Unfinished John Lennon documentary to get first preview at Fest for Beatles Fans | Examiner.com
John Lennon and Beatles fans will get a first look at a new work-in-progress documentary about the early life of John Lennon at this weekend’s 2016 New York Fest for Beatles Fans, the film’s associate producer David Bedford told Beatles Examiner April 12. The trailer for the feature length documentary “Looking For Lennon” followed by a question-and-answer session will be hosted by the film’s director Roger Appleton and Bedford.According to the filmmakers, the main film production will roll out in May in Liverpool after three years research and preparation. Both Appleton, who directed “Get Back – The City that Rocked the World” and “Passport to Liverpool”, and Bedford, a Beatles historian and the author of “Liddypool” and “The Fab One Hundred and Four,” say the new film is the most honest retrospective on Lennon’s early life and the tragedies that shaped his personality and later his music. The film includes rare and previously unseen memoirs along with interviews with some of his closest family, friends and associates.
