BIRMINGHAM, MI – These are photos of The Beatles you’ve probably never seen before, and you can only find them in Michigan. They are rare color photos from The Ed Sullivan Show.The first invasion of The Beatles on TV in the U.S. happened on The Ed Sullivan Show on Feb. 9, 1964. This set of six color photos was taken during the band’s fourth and final appearance on August 14, 1965. That’s one day before the band’s Shea Stadium Concert which kicked off their North American Tour.Robert Kidd Gallery in Downtown Birmingham has the only 25 sets of these prints in the world. They are for sale. Director Gerard Marti talks about the story behind the rare pics in the video interview below.
