Paul McCartney and Bono Featured on “Super Bowl’s Greatest Halftime Shows” TV Special | Beatrice News Channel

Music lovers and sports fans alike know that some of the biggest acts in the world have graced the stage during the Super Bowl halftime show over the years, including Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, The Who, U2 and Michael Jackson. Now, CBS will take a look back at some of the best halftime performances in the event’s history on a special called Super Bowl’s Greatest Halftime Shows, airing Friday, February 5, two days before the big game.Besides highlights of past shows, the two-hour program will feature new interviews with some of the most memorable halftime performers, including McCartney, who played at the Super Bowl in 2005, and U2 frontman Bono, whose band performed in 2002.Also appearing on the special will be Katy Perry, who was last year’s halftime performer; Bruno Mars, who took the stage in 2014; and Beyonce, who performed in 2013. Incidentally, Mars and Beyonce also are expected to join this year’s headliners, Coldplay, on stage.
