This iconic, intimate theatre first opened in 1927, and has been closed and re-opened twice since then.
Over the years, it has been home to such shows as The Merv Griffin Show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, Late Night With David Letterman, and more recently, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
It is on the ground floor of a multi storey office building, and was, in recent years, converted to a television studio.
The Beatles made their historic first of two appearances there on 9th February 1964, when their world opened up, and their vista became much bigger than Liverpool. Despite all its other claims to fame, it will forever be known as the place where The Beatles launched their worldwide career.
It is on the National Register of Historic Buildings, and its interior classed as a landmark by the NYC Preservation Commission.
