The Archangel Gabriel
Angelic Name and Call Sign: unknown
(The following description of the Archangel Gabriel was taken from: "A Dictionary of Angels", by Gustav Davdison, which I highly recommend as reading material.)
Gabriel ("God is my strength")
one of the 2 highest-ranking angels in Judeo-Christian and Mohammedan religious lore. He is the angel of annunciation, resurrection, mercy, vengeance, death, revelation. Apart from Michael, he is the only angel menitoned by name in the Old Testament - unless we include among the Old Testament books of Tobit, usually considered apocryphal, in which case Raphael, who appears there, becomes the 3rd-named angel in Scripture.
Gabriel presides over Paradise, and although he is the ruling prince of the 1st heaven, he is said to sit on the left-hand side of God (whose dwelling is popularly believed to be the 7th Heaven, or the 10th Heaven). Mohammed claimed it was Gabriel (Jibril in Islamic) of the "140 pairs of wings" who dictated to him the Koran, sura by sura. To the Mohammedans, Gabriel is the spirit of truth. In Jewish legend it was Gabriel who dealt death and destruction to the sinful cities of the plain (Sodom and Gommorah among them). And it was Gabriel who according to Talmud Sanhedrin 95b, smote Sennacherib's hosts "with a sharpended scythe which has been ready since Creation."
My first encounter with the Archangel Gabriel on the Ouija Board was a very powerful one.
(see diaries...)
Gabriel's energies are very irratic and the Ouija Board nearly flew off the table. His movements are very swift, forcing the Planchette to make a zig-zag movement. Gabriel doesn't stay very long either. When you encounter Gabriel make sure that you have your questions clearly formed in your mind and are ready to take his energy. Don't be afraid when he appears, for he is the angel of death and resurrection.
Again, make sure that you include the Archangel Gabriel in your introductory prayer before you start work on the Ouija Board.
